THE STORY OF
BARTY GAMES

Barty Games has been an Indie Game Development Studio since 2013. Founded by Jared Miller, the studio was born from a lifelong drive to break down systems and understand how they work. Ten-plus years later — the passion has never left. Every game pushes further, chasing dream ideas and bringing them to life. It's always been about the experience and seeing others smile when they play.

2013 — THE BEGINNING

Created the first video game — a backgammon game built in VB.NET. A single spark that started it all.

2014 — FIRST 3D GAME

Discovered 3D Rad, a free game engine, and built the first racing game. An excellent starting point for learning 3D development.

2015 — LEVELLING UP

Pushed skills further with a second, advanced racing game featuring car selection, customisation, race modes, time limits, and police chases. A major milestone that cemented the passion for game development.

2016 — FIRST UNITY ATTEMPT

First dive into Unity 3D. It didn't go as planned — came close to releasing on Steam but held back. A hard lesson that shaped every project to follow.

2017 — FIRST STEAM RELEASE

After seven months of focused Unity development, The Resistance was born — a single-player FPS set in a distant future. Available free-to-play on Steam.

2018 — DARK MATTER

Dark Matter, a low-poly FPS, released on Steam in May 2018. A learning experience — in hindsight it was rushed, but another important step forward on the journey.

2020 — PRODUCTION QUALITY UNLOCKED

A turning point. Galaxy in Peril: Time Trouble was the first true production-quality game — a significant leap forward and still a personal favourite to revisit.

2021 — MY TIME ALIVE

A zombie survival story envisioned since childhood finally came to life. Excellent reception, and quality that reflects years of passion and experience poured into every detail.

NOW — AND WE ONLY GO FURTHER
